Ed Bishop Incredibly, I'm still here

Yes, it did very well here; Top 30, I believe. Except for the title, I don't remember any foreign lyrics. That it was Gary Gilmore's favorite song is interesting, if only because it tells us nothing about the man and his murderous, dark nature. Also true of Charles Manson. Who would have taken some of those songs from the WHITE ALBUM and interpreted them to mean it was time to start a race war? Only Charlie...Just weird....

    The Girl From Ipanema!

First verse sung by Joao Gilberto in Portuguese, second verse in English by Astrud Gilberto.

Probably many Jobim songs sung soley in Portugeuse.

Aguas de Marco (Waters of March), vocals by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Elis Regina, sung in Portuguese. As the song progresses it is obviously fun and light, towards the end they trade verses quickly back and forth, and she starts to laugh while singing. Even without knowing the language (I don't) one is forced to smile and laugh along with her. :D

Yes, it was...by an annoying prat named Umberto Tozzi....I had to listen to that crap growing up in an Italian home......anyone from Toronto knows what CHIN radio is! Multicultural station. My dad and I had many fights when I changed the station to Chum-FM(used to be a great rock station, now plays pablum).

How about that german metal band?......what the hell.....Rammstein? They had a song in German that was pretty big a few years ago. Up here it was anyway.....it was called Du Hast

"Jet Boy Jet Girl" was the original. The producer knew he wouldnt get much airplay with that, so he re-dubbed the French lyrics. Plastic Bertrand, in fact, did not exist-- The producer sang it and the chap in the photos was Elton Motello's drummer.

Damn, just read through form page 1, didn't see it and you beat me to it.

Interesting story behind that, apparently there wasn't meant to be any Spanish, but someone decided to just double it all up in a foreign language. It's a nice tune. Dunno if it's been released on a decent sounding CD though?
