Xylophone, Balaphone or Marimba? Either way it's the best use of the instrument in a rock song I can think of. Check this video starting around 2:50..

 

We did a few shows with them in the summer of 76 when they opened for Seals & Crofts. Bo was an old friend of Jimmy and Dash's and I believe he played a marimba.

 

How about Barefoot in Baltimore by The Strawberry Alarm Clock?
