Songs that should have been on greatest hits compilations

    Those comps are really meant for the WalMart and K-Mart's of the world; impulse purchases, and it really doesn't matter much what's on them or what the sound quality is, as long as hits a regular Joe or Jane might recognize are there. Even so, some of them do surprise with their sound quality or song choices. I like the Cowsills disc for the mono and using a few songs you wouldn't have expected to find on something so mainstream-geared.

    The Burl Ives Millennium Collection does contain several songs that are hard to find on CD and contains all of his Decca singles that actually charted in the top 40 of the country charts. The more comprehensive "Greatest Hits" from 1996 CD omits Mary Ann Regrets, Wild Side of Life, Goober Peas and "Millennium Collection" does include these tracks.
