I can think of a few that should never begin.

Fair enough, it's not a song. But these notes are like poetry. I actually imagined stories listening to this as a child. It could go on and on and on as far as i'm concerned.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere is far too short. Criminal.

The fade out always frustrates me, even though the song is 5 minutes +.
Such a beautiful and touching song, even more knowing Phil Lynott's story (and his mother's).

If you think ''Desolation Row'' is too long, you either have a very short attention span, or you're nuts.:)

And having seen them live, front row, on that tour before it all fell apart and ending with this song makes me even more emotional whenever I hear it now. Long gone days that I miss.
They often destroyed it live (vocally) but they had a wonderful camaraderie. They had fun during this one, Billy went all Robert Smith with his mic. And the version was good the night i saw them :)

Some of you might be surprised to read this, but I wouldn´t mind if ABBA´s "THE DAY BEFORE YOU CAME" was even longer than it is. Long pop songs are hard to pull off, but that one is perfect at its current length, but I wouldn´t mind even more.

The same applies to the song opening the album that is my avatar. "STARS" could go on forever.

These two songs are timeless in so many ways. You can get lost in them. That´s one of the reasons I love them.

I think the original SP was one of the best live bands ever. So much energy. They just freaking destroyed! :)

Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door" sounds like it's supposed to go on forever but that someone just pulled the plug or shut the power off. It features the most abrupt fade out in the history of recorded music.

I love this song, especially at this time of year. It always leaves me hanging with the way it ends, though.
