I have very fond memories of singing "Ruby Tuesday" to my daughter when she was a baby.

    Good choices.

I'd include the Beach Boy's version of "Hushabye".

I guess people don't sing and Brahm's Lullabye anymore?

    Band - All La Glory
    Band - The Weight
Bob Dylan - Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues
Bobbie Gentry - Ode To Billie Joe

These four were my standard go to lullaby songs while my daughter was growing up. All La Glory because it is a true lullaby. The other three because those were songs where I could easily recall the words. By two my daughter was asking me questions such as, "What exactly is the load they are taking off Fanny?" and "What were they throwing off the Tallahatchie Bridge?" Not exactly easy questions to answer.

Of course this was the same two year old who used to issue declarations like, "Ok, after we hear the Howlin' Wolf, THEN can we hear the Billie Holiday?"

My two year olds faves are "Stay Away Joe" by Elvis and "I Love You Big Dummy" by Captain Beefheart.

She likes "Allabout the bass" too, but thats her mothers fault.

Here are some songs from a playlist I made for a friend's infant. Most are from " lullabye" albums by Linda Ronstadt and Carly Simon. Maybe some of them would work for you:

Over The Rainbow - Carly Simon
Be My Baby - Linda Ronstadt
    Devoted To You/All I Have To Do Is Dream - C. S.
I Only Have Eyes For You - Art Garfunkel
St. Judy's Comet - Paul Simon
    I Gave My Love A Cherry - C.S.
    In My Room - L.R.
    Angel Baby - L.R.
Wish Me A Rainbow - Astrud Gilberto
You Can Close Your Eyes - Carly Simon with Ben Taylor
Dedicated To The One I Love - L.R.
You Are My Sunshine - C.S.
Come Softly To Me/Hushabye - Astrud Gilberto
When You Wish Upon A Star - L.R.
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star - Jewel

For us it was either Move It On Over ala George Thourogood or If I Had A Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies. Between the chorus harmonies and all the call and response it worked real well between myself and Mom. Never failed by the time we would both sing the final line "I'd be rich" my little girl (who will be 21 in 5 weeks) would be comfortably sleeping

OP, look up the Smashing Pumpkins songs "Farewell and Goodnight" and "Take Me Down".

    Two perfect lullabies. :)

Someone gave our boy a child's book about "Stay Up Late." Based on the song. Very nice.

My kids loved NRBQ's kids album "You're Nice People You Are" when they got older, always wanted it played in the car.

I used to sing that song on Peter,Paul, and Mary's first LP...

Bumped his head and he went to bed and he couldn't get up in the morning
Rain rain go away come again some other day

Also played ragtime/blues acoustic finger style stuff like Creole Belle,Freight Train,Jesus Loves Me,Sara Maria by JT,Gordon Lightfoots Pony Man and my older boy liked Arlos Alices Restaurant chorus and his dads Bling-Blang.
