Traffic, in their Low Spark of High Heeled Boys/Welcome to The Canteen/Shootout at the Fantasy Factory era. Rebop Kwaah Baah played the bongos (I might have the spelling of his name slightly off). He is very prominent on the live Welcome to the Canteen album.

 

How about in some of the earlier Beatles songs; for example "You're Going to Lose That Girl"?

you're right. I remember seeing someone playing congas on the One Plus One movie.

 

Beat me to it I love the way the bongos compliment that song.

 

A whole lot of salsa and Latin jazz music has bongos on it. Machito, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie's Latin jazz music, Fania All Stars, dozens or hundreds of other artists.
