When I think of bongos, I think of the themes to "Mission: Impossible" and "The People's Court".
Steve Miller had a song called "Bongo Bongo", but I don't think it had bongos in it.

 

Just gotta say, I keep listening to the disk that inspired this thread.

Tony Bennett Live at Carnegie Hall in 1962. It's just fantastic - one of those live recordings that make you feel the room and wish you were there.

Preston Epps was still playing nights at Monteleone's West here in Woodland Hills through the '90s. It then became a Persian restaurant - I think it was called Darband. Preston played there for a while as well.

Alas, no more. Preston must be 80 or close to it.

Unfortunately, I never went to see him. It probably would have been very cool.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bobby Freeman's "Do You Wanna Dance?". Also, Cliff Richard plays bongos (more or less) in the 1959 film Expresso Bongo. There's a Youtube clip.
