    Matt - A very fine list, especially 1, 4, 5 and 9!

    Oops! Color me embarrassed! :0

In an earlier post I listed And I Love Her as having harmonies...funny how memory plays tricks on you at my age. I guess I was remembering the harmony from If I Fell and transposed it to the wrong song. You'd think I wouldn't do that after all the times I've listened to The Beatles' records (I do know all the lyrics by heart, thank goodness). I'll just chalk it up as a senior moment. :)

Here's one to make up for it:

    Seven Bridges Road -- Eagles

Here is a slice of white that you hardly ever hear anymore, but has harmonies galore- Never My Love- the Association.

Dare I mention.........Carpenters? One of their signature sounds, at least more so on the earlier albums, were the tight vocal harmonies. I think the album A Song For You highlights this quite well.

Virtually every song on the first album by the Roches. A classic of witty and sensual female harmonizing.

Take It Easy by The Eagles should be included in this list as well. Timothy B. Schmit is highly under rated as a singer IMO. I know that he's not the original for TIE, but he does an outstanding job on this song.

The one that always comes to mind for me:

    Eagles "Seven Bridges Road"

Also, Huey Lewis and the News had some great harmonies. "Bad is Bad" is a good example.

They do by me! Great vocals on that whole disc!

Van Halen records had a lot of great harmonies....Micheal Anthony could hit those high notes!

Magic by Pilot is another great use of harmony in a pop song. From what I understand,Brian Wilson was inspired by this to get back into creating music back in the 70s.The handclap arrangement even takes a life of its own.Pure pop done right from the 70s with an inspired harmony arrangement, that's what "Magic" is!!!

Great song and produced by Alan Parsons.

A somewhat obscure British band from the early to mid 70's that did excellent harmony work as well was Hudson Ford (Strawbs spinoff band).

Badfinger's "Baby Blue" has some nice harmonies, too.

The Hudson Brothers' "So You Are A Star" has a bridge that was pure Lennon/McCartney harmonizing.

Almost anything by The Hollies; the choruses of their songs always seemed to have very strong harmonies.

America and the Eagles learned at the feet of CSN,but they understood those lessons very well!!Those two bands had a knack for the melding of harmony and melody in a pop context.
