Can someone who watched `THE SOPRANOS' last night (May7/06) tell me who did those tunes? I'm talking about that version of `Midnight Rider' and that song that played during Christopher's drug relapse.....and was that Dick Dale/SRV over the credits? Thanks....
I was wondering the same thing (and about almost the identical songs, actually); there's a music thread at the sopranos community inside the HBO site. I checked it last night, but it looked like it had been dormant for a long while unless I was missing something. It used to be updated almost instantly after the show, since many people were bugged by the fact that no song credits roll at the end. Katherine Dayak (sp?) has done a great job with the music on that series, and last night was back to A+ form. The song over the drug scene "felt" like a Leonard Cohen song (but I'm pretty sure it wasn't)_or maybe Fred Neil. anybody? doug

So *that* was Fred Neil.....I've heard so much great stuff about this Village cat....well, will have to purchase something now. Cool.
But what was the tune they played over the closing credits? It's not listed on the HBO page--or I couldn't find it! L.
That was more of Johnny Thunders playing Pipeline. A perennial for JT, who used to open most of his post-Dolls live gigs with it.
