Sound of Vinyl - Buying via text

Hi all,

While playing a game on my iPad I saw an ad for Sound of Vinyl LPs that can be bought via text. You take a quick musical survey and they send you buying opportunities via text message. It turns out these albums are distributed under the UMG umbrella. Does anyone subscribe to this service ? Are the prices comparable to other retailers ? Thanks.

I haven't bought via text, but have bought several records from Universal's various online stores including Sound Of vinyl and in the UK at least their service is very good and some of their prices are very good whilst others are comparable to the competition, so I'd recommend the UK side of the operation, hopefully the US side is equally good. In the UK they also have some good bargains and occasional sales, if the US site has similar there may be some real bargains.

 

I think I’d be nervous to purchase via text, but would be open to trying.
