Those are bi-wire cables with the battery packs, right?

no battery packs but yes on bi-wire. The end to amp is a spade, 4 bananas going into each speaker.

It is weird some of the detail I am picking up. Last night I was watching 60 minutes and when the reporter was talking I was somewhat distracted by the breath she would take while speaking.

Were your previous speaker cables bi wire as well?

I'm curious about the Rocket series as I believe Audio Adviser sells less-pretty bulk versions for less.

I was running Monster speaker wire, not bi-wire.

The biggest change is going to bi-wire. Speaker wire is most dependent on conductivity. So lower resistance = better performance. Hence why people suggest bi-wiring and also going to a thicker wire.
There's also some stuff regarding bi-wire and some feedback to the woofer to the cable but that's not a huge influence compared to the line above.

I'm on my second pair of speakers that have bi-wire connectivity and I never considered getting to cables. I feel like such a fool, I should have upgraded years ago.
