My wife has asked me to make her a compilation of "The Best of the Beatles," for her to keep at her office. I'm trying to come up with a way to do this properly, using only two CDs ... I know there's probably no really satisfactory way to do that, but I'm thinking I'll use the "red" and "blue" album track lineups as a rough starting point, removing some of the B-sides like "Old Brown Shoe" and maybe even "Don't Let Me Down," to make room for more of the essential album cuts. Any other ideas? I'd like each album to get its proper due, and to have most or all of the single A-sides included too.
