This thread will be, just what the title says...All the news that pretains to St. Vincent...post anything you feel is relevant. Seeing interesting news being posted in thread about the quality of vinyl for the latest release made me think that it was time for a general thread.
I'll start things off with this... SPOILER ALERT!!- The story reveals what songs she'll be playing on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest for the season finale. She's doing two songs...if ever anybody deserved to have three...

First Nirvana, Now This — All Of St. Vincent’s Dreams Come True
    Wake up.
    by Brenna Ehrlich 05/07/14
Those “severed crossed fingers” have really paid off for Annie Clark — after years of releasing glowing, yet twisted tunes as St. Vincent, a duo of dreams have been manifest.

First, St. Vincent shredded at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, busting out a cover of Nirvana’s “Lithium” with the remaining members in honor of their induction.

Now, she’s primed to play “Saturday Night Live”‘s season finale on May 17, an honor she calls a “dream come true.”

Check out the video below for more of Clark’s thoughts on the experiences.

Oh, bonus! She told us what she will be performing on “SNL” — “Birth In Reverse” and “Digital Witness.” Singing about TV ON TV? How meta.

I figured you might be the first to arrive at this party...and comin' in style too!!! Sweet!! Thanks for the tour dates update!! Can you add her August 9th show at Celebrate Brooklyn to the schedule? It's a free show in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY (St. Vincent and San Fermin on August 9. Doors are at 6:30 & usually shows start around 7:30)...
http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2014/04/celebrate_brook_16.htmlare at 6:30 for this show & most start about 7:30 PM.)

Yeah there's a handful of artists that I'm very passionate about myself (Wilco, Yo La Tengo, Flaming Lips...Paul Simon, Richard Thompson, Paul McCartney...) St. Vincent is on that very top shelf, & only as of very recently. I dug what I'd heard, but heard only scant stuff, then I ran across her cover of "She Is Beyond Good & Evil" & that led me to stream the new album. Checking out other stuff I just ended up buying the whole rest of the catalog when I saw her in Buffalo- & yeah, despite sketchy sound for the show, the performances were amazing.
I'll see her in fairly nearby London, Onatrio in June, near Solstice...then, for free, in August, at Mid-Summer, in Brooklyn (surrounded by a whole series of Nels Cline gigs at a residency he's doing that week at The Stone in NYC) & finally I ended up getting tickets for the two rescheduled dates in Ohio (Sept. 30 & Oct. 1)- which will give me a chance to catch up with some friends in Akron & see my father on the west side of the state.

Wow, I'm envious (especially for the free Brooklyn gig). I was shortly tempted to see her again in June when she returns to Berlin supporting The National, but I'm kinda broke at the moment and not really interested in The National. So spending twice as much for half a St. Vincent show is not really an option for me, unfortunately.

Thanks for adding the Brooklyn show to the list! Yeah, I'm feeling really Blessed & lucky that I discovered her more fully before the tour got into deep swing.
I just love the new album so much & it was such a great show, but the sound was frustrating, so I knew I was going to try to find a way to get to another show. That things are working out as well as they are (her ticket prices, are, like Yo La Tengo, very reasonable, even cheap, at around $25 a show), is a real bonus round. I expected to be able to see her again, but things really turned out beyond my greatest hopes...

If you're interested it, she's playing in Toronto in June and I'm pretty sure it's going to be a free show at Yonge and Dundas Sq as part of the NXNE. It'll be hell though so you'd be better off buying a wrist band for the festival so you can get into the VIP area.

Keep us all updated on if this is a free one or not. I'm going to the show the night before, June 19, in London, Ontario & will be coming back to stay with friends in Buffalo that night. If the Toronto show was actually free, I'd think about it.
I saw The Flaming Lips there at a free NXNE show & it was a nightmare crowd scene- the worst of the worst...I think this was partially due to the stage collapsing at the Radiohead show & lots of folks from that spilling over to the Flaming Lips show, but...it was bad enough to where, if you say that they are always that nasty, that I probably wouldn't bother, but...if it's not that bad a scene & it's free, I'd sure think about a quick Buffalo to Toronto run...

It'll be crowded, especially if the weather is good. Probably not as bad as the Lips show. I saw Devo there and luckily we showed up early and got into the adult drinking area. Sight lines were rubbish but we at least had some room. But I think they've changed it this year so to get into that area you need a wrist band ($150). My friends and I are going to spring for a wrist band anyway to see Spiritualized so we might go down for that St Vincent show. I wish she was playing a proper ticketed show though as this means she might not be back for some time.

I'm still disappointed she isn't playing Birmingham (well, my Birmingham anyway) this tour. She's friends with one of the club owners here (he also played drums on her first album), but I guess she's getting too big for the clubs now.
