Annie used to do this all the time. Too busy since the St. Vincent explosion?
There's more if you follow the rabbit hole.

I didn't get anything -- what's the word? Any news on a new album?

    BERLIN!!! :goodie:

And the place she's playing is literally around the corner from where I live.

That must mean a new album. It just must. And about time too.

No west coast dates, but I've already got enough shows coming up late in the year so I can wait a little.

    Bring on the album!

Really happy for you, Wolfram! Totally agreed re new album - waaay overdue.

Just realized her dates near me are straddling Thanksgiving: Knoxville and/or Durham would normally be no-brainers but not over that holiday weekend. The Ryman show would be mighty tempting but will just be returning from NYC.... :-/. Not meant to be this time, I guess: I'll always have 2014-15!

That sucks. But I'm sure there will be other opportunities. After the last album it felt as if she toured 2 years non stop.

I think that seems to be the norm nowadays for new albums -- tours seem to go on indefinitely, even if the dates are broken up by a few weeks/months of inactivity.

I'm also looking forward to hearing new music from St. Vincent, though I'll pass on the tour, even if it comes to town at some point. I saw her twice: once with David Byrne and then solo for the self-titled album. Both shows were excellent and she is wonderful live.

Yes, touring is how artists nowadays make a living. Although I bought her last album twice (CD and hi-res download).

    oops already posted

    consider this a bump

I think Annie's two year tour was really a coronation and great introduction to many all across the country. She took no prisoners.

can't wait for the next album and more tour dates

    congrats Wolfram
I know what a huge fan you are

my NY son has a girlfriend in Berlin,
I'll have to introduce her to this

As psyched as I am about a this tour and the possible prospect of a new album, I'm less enthused by this VIP ticket policy. I don't want to pay extra just to make sure I get my tickets and I don't need the other stuff that comes with it.

But I like her new look. Never was a fan of blonde Annie. And she looks well. After all this touring I felt she looked like it took too much out of her and was a little worried.

    she is looking very healthy

    sexy as hell too

she paid her dues with all that touring building a big following in each city she played in

    and all that talent
writing, playing and onstage persona to boot

I dragged my friend to a 2015 show
    his comments

she is channeling Bowie, Byrne and Prince all in her own unique way

    he was very impressed

Yes, a cross between Prince and Byrne was what I was thinking too when I saw her on stage.

    definitely some Bowie stage mannerisms
those angular movements, strong chiseled poses

    the return of the
    Thin white duchess

    throwing darts in lovers eyes

She's gushed about Bowie in the press over the years, so it's not surprising that she channels him in her performances.

A new album...heavy space glam rock would be preferred. Somewhere between Bowie, Prince, T-Rex, early Cheap Trick and St. Vincent. She needs a new record for sho.

    nice DB

    side note
you can purchase up to 4 tickets with one code (on any shows combined in the tour), just not more than 4 tickets to one show per venue

I bought 4 in Detroit with the Detroit code, 1 in Durham and just now 1 in Knoxville with the Durham code

finally getting one up on ticketbast

    Thanksgiving weekend
how do you spell road trip!
