Anyone else watching Stalker on CBS?

I saw most of the first episode last week and what I saw made me want to check out this week's episode. So far, it looks pretty good. There seems to be a bit of a subplot going on with the new male detective in the unit. It seems he might be a stalker himself?

This show looked way too creepy, bloody, and violent for me. Not my thing.

I occasionally had to work on Criminal Minds, and that was not a fun show, either. To me, this is just more of the same thing.

Doesn't sound like my kind of thing either. Here's what The Hollywood Reporter said in review:

“Warning — a really disgraceful television series depicting the pornography of terror is on CBS tonight and under no circumstances should anyone watch. This show poses a threat to your capacity to receive and shrug off incoming visual stimuli such as, say, women being doused with gasoline and lit on fire.”

    Ouch!

I watched the pilot episode and it wasn't nearly what Marc feared it would be. I like watching Ms. Q, and I recorded last night's episode and will watch it. . . .

Just watched the second episode. This is a police procedural with a different slant and it's not essential watching but I find it interesting. And a nice vehicle for Maggie Q.

Yup, gotta agree, Maggie Q is the reason to watch this. I was a big fan of her on "Nikita", she has a little of that in this show...

When Criminal Minds premiered I was a fan until they veered into gross and sick and I was done.

That simply keeps Stalker off my list.

Personally I don't think Stalker is anywhere near as gross or sick as Criminal Minds was even near the beginning.

I guess I missed the woman being set ablaze in the first episode. I came in about 15 minutes into the show. I did see a segment with a woman in an elevator being doused with gasoline but she managed to escape.

I wathced the first two episodes and like it well enough. I'll watch a few more and probably get bored and quit, but I like that there is a serialized aspect to it and its not just case of the week. Maggie Q makes it worth checking out. This show is certainly more more "creepy, violent and bloody" that several other regular network shows (Hannibal, Criminal Minds, etc).

I definitely don't find it more "creepy, violent and bloody" than Hannibal!

I agree. I meant to say "NO more creepy".

Funny, but my main problem with Criminal Minds are the characters. Especially their version of Abbey from NCIS who also irritates me to no end. Every character on Criminal Minds is completely humorless. The main guy is an emotionless robot which really surprised me when I found out he used to be in a sitcom.

Holy crap! This one is pretty creepy tonight. The stalker is playing on the personal fears of women.

I wish they would spend more time on the serialized aspect of the show and less on the case of the week. Last week's episode almost entirely self-contained, with just a tacked on bit at the end about the situation with Jack and his ex. This week ignored that completely (other than him removing a few pictures from the wall before nailing his co-worker) and just gave two brief scenes about Beth's new stalker. I'm already getting bored.

If violence against women is a turn-off for viewers then what has kept Law & Order: SVU on the air for 15 years?
I will say this, however: kudos to Dylan McDermott's agent for his perseverance in trying to make his client happen on TV. Keep fighting the good fight Dylan!

McDermott is just not a likeable guy (imo). He always comes across as a smug, entitled, a-hole with no endearing qualities to make him palatable. His looks only take him just so far, for just so long.

Pretty typical Halloween episode last night. Liked the college girl in the french maid costume. Also thought it was cool when dad shows up to help out his son when he was getting bullied.

At least it's a spin on the stalker theme: two guys stalking a house. :)

I think it's interesting that Jack makes no move to leave L.A. due to his ex-wife's threat. I'm interested to see where that goes. . .

Same here. Jack is a bit of a stalker himself.

Jack's ex-wife seems so immature. "I'm going to tell on you if you don't leave L.A.". What is she, 5?
And for a guy Beth seems to hate he sure solves a lot of cases.

Now I have seen two Stalker episodes , I think I have seen enough of this contrieved ****e, where seemingly everybody is stalking everybody else and all the while showing acting skills on the level of dead pieces of meat in a slaughterhouse . I will stop, because even hate watching has limits.
