or yet more misdirection.
Most likely. Great shot, regardless.
Looks like she just kinda force-grabbed it, in the heat of battle. So it's not like it's "hers" to wield, it just happened to be nearby.
The teaser I'm more curious about is this one:
"Powerful light... powerful darkness..."
There's lots of talk/speculation on the Interwebs that Luke has become a "Grey Jedi." That is, a Jedi who embraces both the light and dark side, and doesn't adhere to the too-strict "Jedi Code." Therefore, he might be actually fulfilling his father's destiny to "bring balance to the Force." That would also kinda explain the "It's time for the Jedi to end" line in the original trailer.
That's what it looks like to me, particularly given the enemy guards just at the edge of the frame to left and right.
Me dodging THE LAST JEDI leaks on Twitter, etc.
Yep, I'm already starting to see (supposed) leaks show up in the comments sections on completely-unrelated topics on Facebook. Might be smart to just avoid the comments on social media (or social media altogether) for the next week.
Spoiler: This has people losing their minds
The All-Stars of ‘Star Wars’ (New York Times)
I guess the first ten minutes was shown to member of the Japanese media (I think I'm getting that right). I've seen a summary of the first 10 minutes. Or at least, somebody's idea of what the first 10 minutes may be like.
Mark Hamill looks like he wants to fight somebody off camera.
Me walking out of the Last Jedi:
Got my ticket for a 3D showing next Saturday. There will be several screenings every day starting on Thursday and very few tickets left already.
I got tickets for Thursday night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I hope I like it.
World Premiere is tonight in Los Angeles. You can watch the Red Carpet here.
There should be some (hopefully non-spoiler) reviews from respected film critics like Mick LaSalle (SF Chronicle), A.O. Scott (NY Times) and Michael Phillips (Chicago Tribune), among others, in the coming days. Looking forward to them.
5 Days! Woot!
Lots of extremely positive tweets from last night's premiere, most of them warning people to stay away from reviews/potential spoilers, obvious I know but you know that someone will spill everything before Dec 15. Time to tune out until I see it for myself.
Early praise for 'The Last Jedi' after elaborate premiere
Time to go over to the Dark side.
I have my tickets to see it at 7 p.m. Thursday night. I will not reveal any spoilers. But am happy to join in on the conversation on Friday
I pre ordered tickets for Friday can't wait, first up is RPX experience then will see it again few days later in RPX 3D version. I've not watched any trailers lately so I'm staying away from media to avoid any spoilers. Part of me is sad that this will be the last new Star Wars movie with Princess Leia.
Luke is looking away and is right behind Kylo Ren. This obviously means something.
Yes, it means "Carrie should be here too. "
I am officially revising my first weekend domestic gross estimate upwards to $220 million, and final worldwide gross to $1.8 billion.
