The buildup to seeing Luke Skywalker back in action is surreal to me. I hope it turns out well, as it's great to see Mark Hamill back in the spotlight of the movie making business. I hope it sticks this time. Hey Quentin, think of a part for this guy.

    Nice. Thats a wonderful pic.

Love the colors and photographic style also. Gives an old knights of the round table feel to the pic.

Is it possible that the film title doesn't refer to Luke.....and the 'Last Jedi' is a new character?

It's "last jedi" as plural, meaning more than one jedi remaining.

And this just popped up today. I actually kind of got very sad and misty-eyed seeing Carrie Fisher alive, active, and looking good in front of the cameras.

The Last Jedi would have to fall down to a level of, say, Attack Of The Clones style suckiness for it to really suck:righton:

I hope it's better than Rogue One, though.

Those clips have me interested. If anyone can pull this off, it's Rian Johnson. He's a smart guy who gets science fiction, has a strong sense of character in his writing, and knows how to get interesting performances out of actors. Go watch Looper and it'll give you hope for this film.

Im all for the making a film that is not derived, but it seems to me they are trying to hard in that behind the scene clip when they say "This is going to be brand new!" "The audience will be blown away at the direction Ryan is taking this!"...Hell Fin practically was saying "Sorry SW 7 wasnt that great. But wait until you see this one!!"

Its like they are admitting that 7 was fairly unecessary after all. Just feels like they are trying to hard to convince me that this film is going to be the best Star Wars film ever.

I hope its great. But I remain highly skeptical. Ill know if its great or not. Im a damn Star Wars fan. You dont have to sell the product to me. Make the film that should be made. Ill be sold.

Just make a really good film with characters that are distinguishible, human, humorous etc and are connected to each other and the audience, a storyline that is fresh yet has the Star Wars feel and tradition and some truely touching twist and tragedy. Make me a Star Wars film that fans can finally once again be proud of.

    Thats all a fan wants.

The trouble with new Star Wars films, at least in my own humble opinion, is that they already told the story with the original trilogy and the new ones simply aren't adding anything of substance... the prequel story at least had dynamite potential as an epic and emotional narrative, but these new ones just seem like mere retreads to me.

I often said Id rather them go back and redo the prequel. However, if they really wanted the sequels to be something totally different storyline wise then the potential is endless.

More importantly, why are Luke and Rey both holding Anakin/Luke's lightsaber?
