I've only bought one steel book - Chinatown

because I loved the artwork and didn't own the film on blu yet.

I love the artwork for Pulp Fiction and Apocalypse Now but I already own the films on blu. Not gonna double dip because of just the artwork.

If I already have the movie, I wouldn't buy it again in a Steelbook if I saw it. I did get the recent Mission Impossible and Jack Reacher ones, by luck really. I know they're collectable, but how many times can you make real money reselling them? I suppose that makes me someone who isn't a real collector.

Resell. Bit hit and miss.. Depends on the title, popularity.

  12. My fav although I also like the "Dune" one--just wish that they would release the Judas cut on Blu-ray.

I've bought a heap since last year. The two most recent purchased being First Avenger 3D (24:99) and WWZ 2D( 9:99). Surprised there's not much love for them in the USA.
    Popular in Europe though.

    Ditto.
The new Capt America didn't have it. Though WWZ did.

The current 300-Rise Of A Empire 3D steelbook cover looks a bit meh.
There's a new steelbook version out next month with Eva Green (large image on the back )infinitely better art design.

    I own only two:

    Serpico
    Theatre of Blood

Steelbooks are attractive, but I would only choose to buy one over the regular edition if the price was within a few pounds and the artwork was appealing.

I might have sprung for the steelbook edition of The Wicker Man, but the regular edition had better specs.

    Specs"
The UK are crazy for them.
At the AVforum some guys go to no end in collecting steelbooks. I end up keeping the better blu rays ( if so be)and putting them in the steelbook. :)

I'm not going to double-dip for an inferior edition in superior packaging. Quad-dip, if you count the two previous editions of The Wicker Man that I own on DVD.

I'm more likely to be tempted by a steelbook if I see it side-by-side with the regular edition, in a brick-and-mortar store.

Masters of Cinema have produced some nice steelbooks, but the kind of art house films I purchase on BD don't normally come in such packaging. I can't imagine anyone wanting a steelbook of Punishment Park, for example.

"Double dip" that's what the studios want' I very rarely bite.
Yeah! I'm very fussy myself in regards to price/artwork/specs. Passed on 300-Rise because of that(well art design ) that is till next month when a better steelbook appears.

Make that three. I spun by HMV this afternoon, after work, and couldn't resist picking up the 30th anniversary edition steelbook of This Is Spinal Tap.

    Steelbook kudos to yah!
    Price?

£16.99. It can be found a little cheaper online, but that's not a bad price for the instant gratification of a high street purchase.

Tonight I'm gonna rock it tonight!

I wanted The Big Lebowski on BD and I got the steelbook case one that they had at Best Buy. I didn't think it was any different than a regular BD, but I really don't know.
