Great haul of Masters of Cinema BD steelbooks this weekend. There was a flash sale on Amazon UK, on Friday afternoon; so quick, in fact, that the majority of stuff was sold out before I had the opportunity to share the deal with fellow SH forum members.

I managed to bag the following for between £5.99 and £6.99 each:

    Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse
    Two-lane Blacktop
    Rumble Fish
    Lifeboat
    The Lost Weekend

Total price for the five: £30.95.

  10. I love the new Rabid steelbook.
Much prefer it to the artwork they used for the standard packaging.

I received the final piece of my Masters of Cinema steelbook collection -- the original 2010 edition of Metropolis -- in today's mail.

Here are all 17 MoC steelbooks, together, on my shelf:

I'm up to 44 of them now... the only one on my wishlist that I still haven't been able to find is Transsiberian.... not sure why it's so hard to come by.

  14. Is that the UK release that has both films in a black steelbook?

I have one, 'Death Proof' on HD-DVD. I bought it as a collectable, as it marked the end of the format.

Gorgeous. MoC are the UK's answer to Criterion (I actually prefer them these days). So, we're talking classic, silent, and arthouse cinema, beautifully presented -- often in dual-format editions -- with thoughtful extras. MoC's booklets are always thick and informative.

If you're interested in any of the titles on offer, I'd move on them quickly. Btw, bestmediagroup is Eureka Video, so, in effect, you'd be buying from the manufacturer, with the order fulfilled by Amazon UK.

Thanks for the heads-up! Currently I only had three of their steelbooks (Touch Of Evil, Serpico, Double Indemnity); soon there will be ten... ;)

Do you know if they will also have flash sales for the other non-steelbook Eureka!/MOC BDs anytime soon ?

Glad to be of service. Sounds like you've gotten the bug!

Touch of Evil is one of MoC's more collectible steelbooks, and one hell of a set. Double Indemnity and Serpico are wonderful films.

Yes, they also have some regular Eureka and MoC titles on sale over Easter. See Facebook, or search Amazon UK, for details:

I ordered five more titles yesterday:

    Sunrise
    Le Silence de la Mer
    For All Mankind
    La Signora Senza Camelie
    Metropolis
    (Giorgio Moroder version, DVD steelbook)
