Have they settled things with Becker’s estate?

I think the Becker litigation is still pending.

Hopefully this means McDonald on backing vocals.

Michael is touring in February/March. Even without his involvement, this is a "must see" show. I saw both bands in October 2017 in Dublin.

The Doobies were superb at the O2 in London in October. I'm a huge fan of the Dan, but the Doobies were really 'on it' and stole the show for me. Pity more folk hadn't arrived at the start of their set.

The Doobies now have Bill Payne on keyboards which really gives a lot of added spark. Not impressed by the Nashville guys in the rhythm section though, they lack the NO funk element of old.

This is a great double bill. Like @oxegen above, I was at one of the Dublin shows, and it was a superb night. I was very impressed with the Doobie Brothers, having effectively had to do a crash course in their back catalogue in the weeks prior to going, but the Steely Dan set was incredible. I realise that audiences in the States have had numerous Dan tours since the nineties, and may be growing weary of unimaginative setlists, but it had been twenty one years since we had seen them in any incarnation, and they didn't disappoint. If Donald and the band came back, I'd definitely go again.

I was on the barrier in Dublin, and when Bill was introduced, a guy standing a bit behind me shouted out, "Fat Man in the Bathtub!", to much laughter around us.

Doobie Dan. Now, if they can get Moby Grape,
what's left of the family will be together again.

  18. Maybe so, but the Doobies' bass player is the best singer on the stage (for either band).

    Wait, wha...? :wtf:

Would think this would be a no-brainer...kinda like "The Fireman" opening up for Macca.

Or The Coasters doing a set, changing their jackets backstage then coming back out as The Platters...

Yes, there is still litigation pending and negotiations under way. My understanding is that agreement has been reached on some points and discussions are still ongoing on others. I'm glad they were able to plan this tour to spite that matter not being fully settled yet.

I'm definitely going to be at the show in Toronto on July 2nd as I'll be there to celibate Canada Day with my extended family anyway. Hope it will be a good show !!!!

we certainly have had an over bounty of riches in the states
to the point of being overdemanding for some change in the setlist
how many times can you hear Bodi and Green Earings

The Dan are one of my very top artists and I've done some traveling to see additional shows in the last 17 years
but the shows despite incredible musicianship were getting predictable

Yes it would be fresh to someone is the UK who hasn't seen them in ages

the last time I saw them in Detroit 2016 at one of their meccas Pine Knob
    they were lackluster
Steve Winwood had so much more passion

that said I caught Donald twice on the Nightfly tour and he was very inspired played a mix of his solo, Dan and fun covers with a tight young band

    now that is something
missile defense might have something to say about that

    back to the Dan
The Nightflyers really kicked it up a notch for Donald
and he clearly was enjoying himself

Connor Kennedy is incredible and would be an absolute treat to have joining Jon Herrington

I think the two of them are even working up new material

I saw Steely Dan in VA a few years ago. Other than Donald Fagen is the band from back then similar to what is touring now?

I've never seen the Doobie Brothers. Are there many of the original lineup on this tour?
