    Hi everyone,

I'm probably the last to find this out - but Steely Dan has revamped their website.

They have a new one at Official Site

It's very nice, but some of us really liked the crazy old one they had, with all of Walter's & Dan's spoofery and silliness. Luckily - they've archived it:

[ARCHIVE] Steely Dan | [ARCHIVE] Siteguide

    Cheers,
    Paul

Hell, I’d take a Fagen covers disc at this point.

Given the unrsolved (AFAIK) lawsuit, I’m kind of surprised by any significant change.

From what I can tell - the split is *because* of the lawsuit.

Specifically: "Mr. Fagen is requesting a mandatory purchase of all of Mr. Becker’s stocks, as well as control of the band’s website, SteelyDan.com, which is currently controlled by the Becker estate."

(from Donald Fagen Sues Walter Becker’s Estate for Control of Steely Dan )

This seems to be borne out by the copyright notices on each site.

The archive site has the following note: "© 1996-2017 The Estate of Walter Becker: All Rights Reserved" at the bottom of the page. (Instead of the original "© 1996-2017 Walter Becker and Donald Fagen: All Rights Reserved")

Meanwhile - the new site is "© 2018 Steely Dan All rights reserved."

    Cheers,
    Paul

So I guess there is no injunction against Fagen proceeding as though he controls the corporation - and thus the website.

Well - it could just be semantics here - but neither of these websites *actually* use "steelydan.com". So - that main website could still be in litigation. Going to Official Steely Dan is a simple page with a link to the current page and the archive.

    Cheers,
    Paul
