Steve, regarding analog/digital mastering

    Has there been an improvement in the LP cutting equipment over the years to the extent that you can now cut a lacquer without compromising the frequency range of a master tape? Let us say you recorded a dynamic orchestral piece directly to analog 30ips. Would you need to compress and/or roll off certain frequencies when cutting the lacquer as opposed to the SACD/DVD-A version?
