Which track did he include that wasn't EL&P on the remixed Tarkus?

Looking at this more precisely, it appears not to be the official ELP facebook page... but it's a bit confusing...

I believe he said he only likes their first 2 albums and won't work on stuff he doesn't like. It has nothing to do with Tarkus. OTOH, it's not like he has nothing else to do.

Wasn't all that impressed with his E.L.P. remixing(s). Upon reflection, I would have hired someone else. Preferably someone who likes more than the first 2 albums.

What is the mastering info on the Brain Salad Surgery lp? Knowing the the Brits, it is probably a digital master, which sucks. The Americans have it all over the Brits when it comes to lps. Coherent Sound, Bernie Grundmans studio, and Sterling Sound all can do analog.

Did I fall asleep at the wheel? It looks like the 2CD/1 DVD-A sets are out of print! Were they supposed to be limited or something? I can't believe they'd have a reason for only keeping these in print for 2 years.

Does anybody know when are Brain Salad Surgery and Trilogy going to see the light of day?

Hmm, I guess the Tarkus 2 CD+ DVD is out of print.

Thought I read somewhere that SW wasn't doing anymore ELP. I'm going on memory I could be mistaken.

That's correct - Steven passed on any more ELP work. Trilogy and BSS have been done by Jakko Jackzyk (he's also doing King Crimson Thrak era stuff). BSS comes out in May in assorted formats from 2 cd set to 3 disc set (2 cd and dvd-a) to a 7 disc deluxe set. Trilogy has no firm date yet but is suspected to come maybe in the fall of 2014 at this point.

Who did the 5.1 mix for the 2008 SACD?

There's a long thread for the new BSS release - short answer is May. Trilogy is down and awaiting release, possible on deck for fall 2014.

The 2008 SACD uses the same mix as the old Rhino DVD-A, so that's John Kellogg and Paul Klingberg.

Does anyone know if the "hi res" tracks on Tarkus peak out at 48kHz like on the first album? Not looking to buy it if so.

That's the resolution in which the remix was made, yes.

I wonder why? I believe the original tracks were on tape, which means they could go as high as 24/192. Most of SW mixes on other projects were 96/24.

Ask Greg Lake. He was the one hovering over these.

Well... the only reason to go with 48khz was to save the computer processor from over loading. This doesn't make sense because SW should be using big computers and hard drives. Right?
