"As Good As It Gets" is out on BD - it got a limited release from Twilight Time...

Yeah, I discovered that after searching around on Amazon.

Still, no official release from Sony/Columbia/TriStar, and the Twilight Time release is ridiculously expensive now.

I wouldn't count on one from Sony. If they didn't think it'd sell well enough for more than a "boutique release" in the first place, I doubt they've changed their minds! :sigh:

It is more than a bit surprising that the film doesn't seem to have the caché to drive a mainstream release. It's quite a good film, and had quite the draw when it was released in theatres, on VHS, and on DVD.

Agreed, it still pops up on cable from time to time. I thought it was quite popular.

  7. "The Big Chill" is being worked on by Sony for a release on Criterion this year..."As Good As It Gets" was released 2 years ago by Sony as a limited edition via Twilight Time Entertainment and only 3,000 pressings were made...it may still be available via their distributor, Screen Archives Entertainment...you can also buy region-free import copies of it from Sony via Amazon's European websites for reasonable prices as this will NOT be available as a standalone release in US stores for at least 2 more years...

Most new movie releases are $20-$25 when they first come out. And this one is handled with care by TT so I personally have no problem paying that amount of money for a movie I really like.

It's nice to see that some of the requested titles from last year have since been released.

I'm still waiting for the "The Party".
