According to the press release, the Stones SACDs will be sold in the UK under the ABKCO/Decca label.

Gee Todd, sounds like you're ready for your new career as a Sony SACD mastering engineer and from the sound of it, they're going to need your help. 22 albums in 2-3 months, sheesh!

Not true. ABKCO owns the catalog worldwide, not just in the US. Much to the dismay of some here, they pulled the "London" CDs overseas a few years ago in favor of the old US CDs.

    I didn't say bootlegs.

See how this floats your boat:

    From posts at Hi-Rez:

One guy heard sample cuts at the Home Entertainment 2002 show and reports they were loaded with analog tape hiss. So forget about No-Noise.

To keep some of the info in this thread in case it's missed elsewhere:

Suggested list is $18.98. That means the actual selling price will be like any normal CD.

    Bob Ludwig mastered.

Out Of Our Heads, Aftermath, and Between the Buttons will be released in both the American and UK versions, and Metamorphosis will be the UK version.

All 22 titles will be released as hybrids only. In other words, there won't be any plain CD releases without an SACD layer.

22 ABKCO Stones albums? I only count about 15 including the Hot Rocks collections. What are the others?

This sounds so promising yet I am skeptical. If they are using the original Decca masters, great. If it's electronically rechannelled for stereo crap, forget it.

Still, the thought of having the original true masters on SACD makes me drool. I only own Let It Bleed and Through the Past.. on Decca UK LP versions and they make the London copies sound sick.

And, as someone else mentioned already, maybe the publicity of a Stones catalog on SACD might be a boost for the format (and the industry) and others will follow suit with remastered catalogues.

The Canoe article lists all the albums. Some albums will be available in both US and UK configs.

I kind of doubt Bob Ludwig would allow rechanneled stuff.
