prompt me to buy an SACD player. Much like The Beatles CD's prompted me to buy a CD player, I had no real interest in one prior to that. And now an SACD player can be had for under $300 and gets a good review in The Absolute Sound. Why the hell not? Yeah, Stones! And now for The Beatles, Floyd, Zeppelin, etc. to follow suit. With equal talent behind the knobs, i.e. Steve Hoffman, Bob Ludwig, Doug Sax. Hope it's a success, and hooray for them being hybrid discs.

Yes, considerably under $300. The Sony 775 is discounted right now at Best Buy for $179. It's a close-out so don't waste time :)

What needs to happen is proper promotion. The Stones SACDs and the SACD players should promote each other. The stores selling the players should have a rack of the Stones SACDs near the players, which would tell people "If you buy a player, you can have this! " People need a reason to get into something. Great sounding versions of Stones albums would be a pretty good excuse.
