And as an update: Neflix has already renewed the show for a third season (!!!) and the Duffer Brothers say their ultimate goal is to just do 4 seasons and then out.

‘Stranger Things’ Creators Want to End Series After Four Seasons

And in this interview, they reveal that two of the most difficult things about making the first season was they had a lot of trouble licensing the Clash's hit "Should I Stay or Should I Go," because the group (who controls the rights to the song) were fearful that filmmakers might make fun of it -- which was not the case at all for Stranger Things.

The 2nd season premieres on Netflix on October 27th.

Cool, didn't notice that will go back and watch. I had one of those monitors.

Thank you for the tip. I just requested it from the New Jersey inter-library loan system.

"Yeah, I heard that," texted my 13 year old daughter.

"That could work but it's still a little long," texted her 15 year old brother who is a huge fan of Les Revenants.

I thought the same thing. I'm surprised Winona Ryder didn't get nominated.

Just started binging on STRANGER THINGS series 2 tonight in 4K HDR. Fantastic storyline, really engaging characters, brilliant visuals. Scary as hell. Epic color work by Skip Kimball at Technicolor/Hollywood and the VFX crew -- this is Emmy-class visuals. Drop everything and watch it.

My kids didn't have school or work today, so they got up at 3AM and watched all of season 2 by lunchtime. They haven't let anything slip yet, so hopefully I can have a spoiler-free viewing weekend.

I only watched episode 1 of season 2 so far.

    Here's my no spoilers comment:

Anyone worth their salt knows you can only put in 3 characters for your high score in Dig Dug. Details people!

We had 10 inches of snow (yes snow) yesterday, so my wife and I sat inside and watched all of season 2.
We thoroughly enjoyed it, and had several moments when it was pretty frightening. Wonder what season 3 will bring? But now we'll have to wait another year.

I’m 3 episodes in. The 80s references seemed a little too much but mellowed out after a while.

I'll tell you what they've gotten very wrong...the state of bicycles in 1984. Sorry, there just weren't that many Stingrays around even by that time. That ratio of 20" bmx bikes would have easily outnumbered everything else in the world of kids that age. In 1984 it was all about Mongoose, Redline, Hutch, etc. I hadn't seen something with a banana seat in a few years by '84 yet it's seemingly all you see. Even the scenes where they're at the bike rack at school it's nothing but 10 speeds and banana seats and Dustin's lone bmx.
