Stripping the "crackles" from a mono album

Some time ago, I had some software that would strip the crackles off a mono recording, by comparing the stereo picture and removing anything that was on one side but not on the other. It'sa bit like how you can strip away the vocal track from stereo recordings because they are usually 'in the middle', but in reverse.

Anyway, it seems I don't have it anymore, so this seemed the best place to ask if anyone knows of a (perhaps more updated) version of such an application?

 

Summing to mono helps (only for TRUE mono pressings), as does ClickRepair software, which is both affordable and highly effective:
