Hi, Roman. I'm impressed with your works. As to Technics cartridge, I still can not figure out, where moving magnet is located? It looks like it should be in front of pivot? Does that cartridge possess some kind of point suspension, or just a wire string and a rubber damper, as usual?

To anyone who participated in my GROUP BUY of Namiki replacement Boron/MR stylus, below is the message I received from them about ETD (estimated time of departure) for them to ship to us. So when I get them, of course I will distribute all. And with mine, I am sending some of them to Roman, because he has a few of my broken cartridiges now (including an Ortofon SPU) to install these into.

    Dear Warren,
We will ship below products ETD Factory on May 11th .

    BORON CANTILEVER & MR (M402-0612) 50 pcs
    DIAMOND CANTILEVER & MR (M402-0611) 1pc
BORON CANTILEVER 6MM LENGTH, no stylus 5pcs

    Best Regards,
    Koji Yoneyama

    Hello everyone.
Dmitry was rewinding me reels on high-low-resistance cartridges, but for him it's no problem.

I have a moving-coil cartridge with one open-circuit coil. Can you recommend someone to make a new coil for me?

    Hello.
Which cartridge name? What's wrong? Coil breakage?
There are cartridges in which the coils are very difficult to dismantle.
    If possible photo.

This is a 30 year old Denon 103D. I do not know what is wrong, I only know that nobody will rebuild the stylus/cantilever because they tell me one of the coils is open-circuit. This is a 40-ohm cartridge, so I imagine the coil has a lot of windings of the very fine wire.

    No problems to rewind.
But, at the moment there is no wire 0.015mm available.
If you have the opportunity to find such a wire, then you can repair the cartridge and it will be 40 Ohm.
At the moment, it is possible to rewind the other wire and there will be a resistance of 16 Ohm.

Thank you for the link with the price of the wire.
This is not an acceptable price.

Is there any very unusual wire of this diameter that I could try, like silver or the Koetsu Platinum alloy?

And how many meters do I need for one 40-ohm Denon 103D?

Once the coils are working correctly, then my plan is to upgrade the stylus and cantilever to Boron/MR. So I am very serious about the Denon 103D, beyond many people's estimation of its value.

If MikailB quotes me a price for buying the materials AND doing the labor, I will be interested in paying you, in advance, for the complete job, and sending you my broken cartridge. I am sending you a Private Message now.

    Hello!
Sorry for my late reply, I was busy a little bit with retipping...
Thanks a lot for your feedback about my work, really appreciate it!
Answering on your question... The magnet located inside of the steel tube and you are right - it's just wire string and damper, but not rubber - it's a TTDD (Technics Temperature Defense Damper), special development of Technics, mix of a special materials.
So, the whole construction (shaft - string wire - damper - magnet - cantilever) located inside of this gold steel tube.

yes, expensive per weight, but it's 32.8' - how many feet of wire to rebuild a cartridge? one foot? more? less? i suspect that the cost per cartridge wouldn't be very much...

the link for the chinese copper may be less per weight, but there's a 5kg minimum order...

Yes, you are right in terms of one cartridge seems and not expensive, although winding the work is delicate and you can spoil the wire a lot.
The main thing is that there are practically no orders for rewinding such a wire diameter.

well, you certainly don't want to be buying 5kg of the stuff, lol! re: cost, "practically no orders", is a cost of doing business, and you can charge accordingly - it's the customer's option to accept or decline the service. maybe someone think's it's worth it to pay an additional $100 for otherwise unobtainable wire to rebuild their cartridge.

    To Michail
I've used wires dismantled from vintage Ortofon MM cartridge to wind new coils for MC cart. There are pretty huge coils with a lot of wires in any MM cart. I personally, have a lot of dead bodies of different top end MM carts, so no problem with finding proper to rewind MC.
