This my first post and appreciate the fine work on rebuilding these !
How do you determine the length to use and what kind of epoxy are you using ?

    Thanx

[/ QUOTE]
I've used wires dismantled from vintage Ortofon MM cartridge to wind new coils for MC cart. There are pretty huge coils with a lot of wires in any MM cart. I personally, have a lot of dead bodies of different top end MM carts, so no problem with finding proper to rewind MC.

Hi! Sorry for my late reply... Can you send me some pictures of you Ortofon Cadenza Black, please? My e-mail: [email protected]
I've got my own Ortofon Cadenza Black and it's fantastic cartridge! Middle frequency is just unbelievable on this cartrige.
But I hardly can imagine how cantilever could be bent, since Cadenza Black uses boron cantilever... Boron can't be bent.
Probably there is a problem with suspension wire... Anyway, I have to take a look at your cartridge.

Roman, are you able to retip t4p cartridges and keep the correct 20mm distance from the back of the cartridge body to stylus tip? If so I may be interested in getting a couple cartridges retipped.

Warren, is there by chance any left over styli from the group buy or are they history? If there are, I'm interested in purchasing a couple.

i have one that the rubber damper has become soft and it rides low.in your photos above it looks the same.
is this something you can replace/fix please?

    Hello everybody!
Just want to let you know - sometimes I'm a little bit busy with some other things and can't reply on your messges in time, but I will reply to all of you anyway, just with a little delay... Sorry for that.
And I'm still running my re-tipping thing, definitely not going to stop

    Hello Jamie!
Soft damper on Technics cartridges - it's a common thing, this is their "ailing side", 70% of Technics cartridges have the same problem.
And unfortunately due to a difficult construction of moving parts on this 305MC model - it's almost impossible to change the damper without damaging coil wires.
There is one screw on the body, this screw is responsible for a tightening or softening of cartridge moving parts.
It's possible to tight moving parts a little bit by this screw, but I don't think it will help, if damper already became too soft due to aging.
Try to check condition of damper - is he looks like a glue already?

I can do this, but only if we are going to use an aluminum cantilever as a spare part.
Boron, beryllium, sapphire of ruby cantilevers can't be cutted to a necessary length.

Hello, I need my Sony XL-55 Pro cartridge repaired. It has one channel out. Is this something you can do Roman?

Hi Roman, I have a Monster Genesis 1000 MC cartridge and it has very little hours on it. I like it's sound very much. For whatever happened, the cantilever collapsed on the record one day I played it. Can this be repairable? Thanks

    Cheers Roman,
May I ask why did you use so much glue on this cartridge?
I truly appreciate your efforts, but with such amount of glue I am not sure the sound of this Koetsu isgood.

Recoiling is not cheap, but if you decide to get a new coil I would recommend to make it around 6-8 ohm. My experience is that lower impedance cartridges sound nicer. The same is true with the DL-103 with a 6 ohm silver coil.
