You have some good choices here, but I must question the inclusion of Touch of Evil on your list. We already have superb editions of this film from Masters of Cinema (five cuts across two BDs) and Universal (three cuts), plus a slew of extras. What more do you want that Criterion could supply?
Yeah, you are right. I have the Eureka Blu but my main reason for wanting a Criterion is that 'I simply want to see it as part of the collection' not to mention that it would be in a native region format. It would fit in well with the other Welles that have been coming out lately. And one can always hope that someday it will see a 4K transfer.

I can’t see Universal licensing Touch of Evil to Criterion, especially with their own, comprehensive, version already available. Aside from Citizen Kane, Touch of Evil is probably the most well known, and highly regarded, Welles picture by the general public. I’d imagine it’s a steady earner for Universal. We’ve done very well with Welles releases over the last year or so. His core canon is now well covered. What we could still do with is an upgrade to BD for Criterion’s Mr. Arkadin box set. I’d also like to see a decent edition of The Stranger; none of the currently available BDs are truly satisfying. And, I guess, the U.S. needs a release of The Trial; in Europe, we already have a nice release from Studio Canal.
Yes, forgot about Arkadin. Not one of my favorite Welles but worthy of an upgrade over some things that make the cut to BD. And I forgot about The Trial as well. I saw that for the first time recently on Filmstruck and enjoyed it very much. I'll take a look at Studio Canal's website to check the extras and such. I would buy it on Blu. Haven't seen The Stranger.
This Antonioni film doesn’t get the credit it’s due in my opinion. Maybe not his best but a fine film at any rate. I’ve seen it at least 5 times and would surely be happy to add it to the collection on BD. While thinking about Nicholson I could imagine this one looking nice sandwiched between a Criterion release of Chinatown and Last Tango in Paris.
I should have qualified the Maria Schneider connection as well. Nicholson in The Last Tango may have been interesting though! Imagining The Postman Always Rings Twice...
