I was wondering if there could be a compiled list of the LP's that Sundazed has truly (with evidence to back it up and pictures of master tapes are not evidence) mastered certain LP's analog all the way through and not merely "sourced" from the masters?

Who wants to start because I really would love to know.

From what I have read on Sundazed, if they state that the album was, "cut directly from the original analog masters", then that album should be all analog, i.e. The Byrds - Mr Tambourine Man MONO.

I'm under the assumption that most of their lps are mastered from the OMT but not cut from the analog masters. I have some titles from them that sound average to good and some that sound really good. I kind of put them in a similar category as Light in the Attic and to a less extend Music on Vinyl.

In my same experience with the label, I'd say that most of their releases are hi-rez. Ones that I know are cut from OMT are:

    The Byrds - Fifth Dimension
The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man
The Byrds - Notorious Byrd Brothers
The Byrds - Sweetheart of the Rodeo
The Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn!
The Byrds - Younger Than Yesterday

Those Byrds albums all sound great indeed, and so do many, many other Sundazed LPs I have, including the Dylan mono reissues. Kevin Gray mastered all of these and many more.

Does Sundazed disclose which albums are all-analogue on their web page or Facebook page or by some other means? In other words, how can one know which are and which aren't?

Only a small amount are listed as "cut from the original master tapes". Most are "mastered", "sourced" or in some cases "meticulously mastered" from the original tapes. Their websites states such and online retailers such as Elusive Disc are good about providing the above statements in the product description.

I believe the recent Hollies monos are analog.

They're not. Same NR'ed EMI sources as older issues.

They never do. And that's why I'm almost 100% sure they're always digital. If they are all-analog, why not tell us? Take a look at AP, MoFi and others. These guys are all very clear on this. Sundazed, on the other hand, is a mystery.

Perhaps you'd be best served by contacting Sundazed and you might get an answer...for an answer, try the source.

  15. Did you like them before you knew they were NR'ed digital?

I had the early Dylan BOB cut (non-KG) and it was pretty lifeless. When I heard the AAA Sterling/Marino cut it was a huge difference in SQ.

They did a great job on the Leonard Cohen KG cuts!

Thought I'd be more knocked out than I was. Didn't already own the mono mixes though, and prefer them.
