Well, for me it's Crime of the Century for the combination of sound quality and content. Breakfast in America is right there on content. Sound quality is what does it in for me. Let's hope MoFi actually gets to do it again. Looking unlikely.

Yeah, a couple are old, though its not like there have been new Supertramp albums since then. But the first thread is still open and you can still vote in it.

I concur with the OP: Crisis? What Crisis? Just queued it up on the Pono, as a matter of fact.

I have to go with Crime Of The Century. I think it is a great album, kind of a middle class man's Dark Side Of The Moon. I think part of my love for the album is also the way I found it. I had to stop at our local ShopKo (think Target only much smaller) and I decided to check out the CDs, which consisted of one little section of an isle, mostly stocked with country and greatest hits albums. I was just about done looking when I seen this CD with a fantastic cover, so I picked it up and seen the title, I had heard of COTC, but had no idea what kind of music it was or who Supertramp was. All I knew is I had seen the album on some "best of" lists, so for $7.99 I took a chance and fell in love with the album and the band, I have everything from their debut up to Brother Where You Bound.

This was a couple years ago, maybe 2014, and it was so refreshing to walk into a store and actually discover a band the way many people did back in the 1960s/70s, going off the album cover and maybe knowing a little about the band or album. No streaming, no preview tracks, not even Amazon/Metacritic reviews. Sorry for the long story, got to rambling a bit, but a great band and a great album.

I'm still getting into Supertramp's deep cuts. It's between Crime of the Century and Breakfast in America for me, although I probably play Paris more that anything.

It's pretty much a 3-way tie between "Crime Of The Century", "Breakfast In America" and "Brother Where You Bound" for me. If I absolutely had to pick one over the other two, it'd probably be Crime.

For me it's always about songs because most albums have some good ones and some not so good, and Supertramp's are no exception. Crime of the Century and Crisis What Crisis would both be in the running for favourite LP, but my top 10 songs are more or less set in stone (from best to least):

    Hide in Your Shell
    Soapbox Opera
    The Meaning
    Fool's Overture
    School
    Two of Us
    Logical Song
    Babaji
And I am Not Like Other Birds of Prey
    If Everyone Was Listening

I can break up this list into five pairs of approximately-equal-quality songs ...
