OK, the quest goes on. After two very successful FREE distributions
of THE Syd Barrett collection of unreleased material- "Have You Got
It Yet?", the world's largest Syd Barrett fan organization is ready
to distribute Vols. V – VII.

This is being distributed via a Tree & Leaf Network of fans
reimbursing fans for mere costs or trading with each other. There is
no profit and no central source of distribution. Everybody trades
with everybody else. This is just Syd's fans helping each other all
    the way.

Tracks have been submitted from their entire membership of, then,
    500. We are over 900 members now. Only the best versions were used
from the many, many duplicates. These selected tracks were then
cleaned with a combination of several software packages. The cleaning
process alone took six months. The results are stunning! You'll never
    believe quality like this existed.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! If you look at Disc IV, you will see that three
new tracks have surfaced with this collection. Among them is the
fabled In The Beechwoods. Also is an instrumental jam of Vegetable
Man and the original 1967 mix of the same.

You have to belong to the group because it's only being distributed
    to members: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LaughingMadcaps

Radio show / discussion devoted to Syd Barrett: A retrospective of

The problem with this tree is all of the tracks were *very* heavily subjected to noise reduction and processing (a bad thing  .) There is no reason for this for b/c the Syd PF and solo outtakes sound up to official release quality. I have an unprocessed MASTER>DAT>CDR of the 9/13/67 Denmark show that sounds pretty good all things considered. If you look around you can find much better sounding versions of this stuff. You can hear the tell tale clicks and nasty digital artifacts all over this stuff.

What is "stereo enhanced"? I'd love to hear those early PF singles in true stereo, but I didn't think they existed. Are these fake stereo (like on 'Works')?

Nope. Arnold and Emily don't exist in true stereo. 'Stereo Enhanced' is some kind of digital processing that creates a slight deley in one of the channels. In other words it's fake stereo. The multitracks and for Piper and Emily no longer exist (or they are at least not at EMI.) Ditto for Piper outtakes and alternates. The multi's for Arnold and Candy and a Currant Bun *may* still exist. EMI has a tape box that contains all of the outtakes from the Arnold/Candy sessiom but it's unclear if the multi's are among the reels. All of the Syd PF, post Piper outtakes and multi's *do* survive however. :D. A rough recording of a late '67 Syd/PF original titled 'In the Beechwoods' as well as an alt. take of Veg. Man are currently doing the rounds. Both are excellent performances and really slam home the argument of a comprehensive Syd-era PF compilation/rarites collection. It's a real shame you can't walk into a record store and buy a disc with Scream and Vegtable Man

    Shine On,

    Chris
