Looks like all of the System of a Down albums are finally coming to vinyl in October with official releases. I'm only seeing German links so far, but it looks like the real deal... As with RATM reissues, again on Sony, no information on who is cutting them or where they are pressed. It is simply unacceptable.

Hopefully these LP's are done with care, they would require a remaster specific for vinyl because pressing a high-res DR4 slammed file isn't going to cut it. I think all of their albums are DR4-5 on average.
Someone has updated the Discogs releases for all these new pressings...doesn't look good, no cutting engineer name in the deadwax. Probably performed by an automaton. Skipping these System Of A Down - Toxicity
This is true. I love their albums, but they are all very hard to sit through because of the overbearing loudness and distortion.
I always felt that gave their music a sense of urgency and suited their style. I had no problem listening to them.
Interested in comments on sound quality, if anyone here has heard any of these. I just read a comment that the jacket artwork is pretty low-quality. Can anyone confirm?
I got the self titled and steal this album in the mail this morning. Cover artwork looked fine. Wish they could of came up with something better for steak though. Will try to give a listen this weekend.
I own the original black toxicity pressing (sounds incredible) and the Mezmerize Pic. disc original release. Has to be one of the best sounding picture disc in existence. These two issues will be tough to beat.
I just saw the self-titled debut album and Steal This Album at a local record shop and both are quite pixelated with JPEG artifacts.
I only picked up toxicity and I’m just listening to it now so this is very much a first impressions so don’t be too harsh! The cover art is definitely blurry on the front but crisp on the back so not sure if it was originally a bit fuzzy in the first place. Now how does it sound? Not bad at all! Nice clarity, no distortion that shouldn’t be there and no harshness. It is a little flat sounding although serj’s voice sounds great. For £20 I reckon they’ve done ok, it’s a nice flat and quiet pressing. Could do with a bit more life but it is definitely listenable. It would be interesting to see how it compares to the original pressing as I only have the cd (this is for the Eu pressing btw).
I can confirm the original Toxicity release image is blurry on glossy heavy outer - colors are deep but image is muddy to say the least.
Christ, I've waited years for a reissuing of Toxity. In Sony We Trust to balls this up. Anything they issue on their own label gets a wide berth from me as something they just don't care about. We are Vinyl, indeed
No "we are vinyl" stickers on the album. No initials or anything aside from numbers in the matrix and no info in the liner notes from what I can see about the vinyl mastering or anything relating to the vinyl version of the album.
