    I think it's excellent. Very under-rated.

Yeah its good. Has that Brian Wilson tribute song. Sounds like Pet Sounds. If an LP or cd says Tears For Fears on it, that's a pretty good indication that you're not throwing your money away. Unless, of course, we're talking about the mastering of Everybody Loves a Happy Ending. Great album made unlistenable.

Elemental and Raoul are the only TFF I don't have. I also haven't heard Roland's solo album "Tomcats"...

This is a good album and it had a little play on the radio when it came out. If you like this group then you would like this album.

    Both very worthy.

Raoul has some very nice stuff including a duet with Oletta Adams on the song "Me And My Big Ideas". Just fantastic! Get it now!

Raoul is my favorite although I haven't listened to it in years. Also really love side one of Sowing the Seeds. Never got too heavily into the first two (probably due to over exposure on radio and MTV), but I do like them both.

"raoul" is even better than "elemental".

"god's mistake" "sketches of pain" just great.

Highly underrated! Great album start to finish.

Tomcats is pure brilliance. On my top 10 desert island discs!

That was a great single that I used to hear on the radio when the album first came out. Given the fact that I love Raoul... and Everybody Loves..., I should look for this!

Dissenting view: apart from "Break It Down Again," I don't think anything on this album measures up to what TFF did before it. The title track, "Goodnight Song" and the "Brian Wilson" song are OK. The rest is kind of bland, digital sounding pop-rock, and RO's singing started to get really overwrought.

As little as he seemed to contribute to Tears For Fears Curt Smith does seem to be some kind of good luck charm for Roland.

I thought that 1995's Raoul And The Kings Of Spain was a masterpiece (and it was Curt-less) :D .

I thought that album was even worse! (I do like the reunion album though.)

I liked the Title track "Elemental" and that was about it for that one.
    Raoul was even more forgettable.
His solo cd was better, but unmemorable.
    The reunion cd was unremarkable.

Stick with the first 3 cds.

Worth the price of admission for that one tune alone. A classic. :righton:

I've got Raoul in the cool cigar box packaging.

  22. I'll add to the chorus praising Elemental. While it's definitely not as ambitious or moving as Seeds of Love, it has some very well-crafted and performed songs. In my opinion, it's better than Songs from the Big Chair, but I may be in the minority in considering the latter to be their weakest album in spite of all the hits.

In you haven't heard Raoul, though, I think it's even better--a masterpiece along similar lines to Seeds of Love: moving, atmospheric, impeccably performed. Definitely not to be missed, IMHO.

    You're right!

In this man's opinion both Raoul... and the last one from 2004 (with Curt Smith), Everybody Loves..., are both excellent albums.

I would have gone to see them "live" but they never toured Canada it seems after the last album came out in Sept. of 2004. We waited...but no tour... This great album got scant notice (undeservedly so) and the whole "reunion" just faded away...Damn shame.
