So many great tracks on that album. My personal fave is Secret World; they should've found a way to include it on the latest GH album so that new fans have the opportunity to hear it.

Kills me that it sank without a trace after release ... :(

    CD.

That interview is from before the reunion, by the way. Just thought I'd pull it out because of the Wham! comparisons.

So finally some German dates but only in the far North. That's still a long way to travel from where I live. Sigh...

  4. My wife and I saw TFF open for Hall & Oats earlier this year, and as long as TFF were the headliners (and the ticket prices weren't too outrageous), I'd be very tempted to go see/hear them again - if they toured the States again and played here in the DC area.

Especially if they played a deeper set-list.

    Secret World is great, too!

I saw them on that tour last spring as well. I am totally there if they tour the States as a headliner again.

Did you ever get the chance? You mean Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love) 4:30 is on the In My Mind's Eye DVD?

No, I meant that the slightly longer fadeout is probably also on the 12" version (which repeats the title line over and over again - and is even longer on the box set compared to the original 12")...

And I did quickly compare the two 7" versions now: the reissue does have about 30 seconds more at the end.

I was in Target yesterday, and a modern R&B pop song came on with a sample of Pale Shelter in it. Very strange to hear that.

Sounded like Bruno Mars, but turns out it is The Weeknd and song is "Secret".

There will be a 12 inch release of this for Record Store Day 2018.
Probably have a dub mix on the b-side, but not sure.

  13. I hear it too -- ALSO while I was in a Target too (few weeks ago, iirc). Very odd to hear, definitely!!

So how's the sound quality on the 2LP version? Scrolling this thread I found no mention of it. The DR6 and lazy booklet of the CD version isn't encouraging. Is the vinyl version any better for sound quality and physical presentation?

    Ken.e. Spinning music since...

I've only seen it for > $50 at my local stores so I have not even thought of buying it. If I heard it was excellent vinyl I might get it from Amazon but still to expensive at $41 for a greatest hits package. I was also put off with it not looking for the rare (on vinyl) single versions to include.

finally got around to listening to the tracks:

Head Over Heels (Talamanca System Tribal Persuasion Remix) - a very housey, trippy take on the song, the most developed version with vocals, the full version of course extends the edit version

Head Over Heels (Talamanca System's Trip To Es Vedra) - pretty much just a quiet dub version of their other mix of this, very mellow and ambient in parts

Head Over Heels (Sketches From An Island Sunrise Meditation) - a very midtempo bubbly, and echo-y take of an ambient version of the songs, with a few vocal riffs in it

Head Over Heels (Mark's Flying Wings of Love ReImagination) - a very slow and quiet mostly instrumental version, with a boring repeating synth loop throughout with bubbly sounds

    ========================================================

mostly, just some long ambient takes on the head over heels theme.

the talamanca system tribal mix is the best, the rest are all just mediocre.

One of the stranger releases they have done - who exactly is target audience???
Thank good goodness I'm not a TFF completist!
They know what the fans truly want (new music, Seeds box).

Does anyone own the vinyl version? I've been considering it but reviews on Amazon are not great.

Mastering aside, this is nearly all the Tears for Fears I'd never need. (I would only add "Suffer the Children," and replace "Shout" and "Mothers Talk" with the superior LP versions. If something needs to go to make room, I would ditch the new songs.)
