Tell me about your next upgrade?

Well, most of the really good stuff hurts the wallet, haha. It is madness, but it's one Hell of a ride.

 

I'm thinking DAC then speakers.

It never ends.

 

Carpet floor & thick curtains/thick sofa / book cases / windowed room it has to be. Its a shame because the modern sparse rooms
look great but they are acoustic nightmares

I'm building my new speakers right now. Should be done in a week or so.

 

A new phono stage. I'm not entirely sure which one yet, but I'll be making a final decision before Christmas.

 

An MC452 to go with my McIntosh C2300. Then I'll upgrade my speakers.

 

Tell me about it. I've lived in lofts for the last 10+ years. Always a nightmare.

 

Seems to be that time. I haven't changed anything serious for a couple of years, but now it's going to be a new player (Marantz SA8005), new phono stage (Dynavector P75) and new-to-me turntable (VPI Scout with some upgrades at the same time). I'm also looking at speakers (10 years on the current pair) but will probably wait until the new year.

I had the JD9 for a while and upgraded to the Rogue Ares. Big improvement IMHO. I had all 3 levels of upgrades done to the JD9, never really fell in love with it.

 

I'm mulling over a DSD capable DAC. The Chord stuff sure looks sweet.
