Another look at the wall as shown in the first season. Took a screenshot of it.

There was a very rare fourth wall shot in Friends during "The One With the Messy Closet":

Retired Letter Carrier/I.S. I am. Its almost the real patch but its not. In that time period the patch always said LetterCarrier not US Mail on front and US Mail on arm patch. The uniform is vintage 1980-1998. John M.

US Gov rarely if ever gives permission to use the actual uniform and patch. You can impersonate a cop but not a mailman. Take care, John M. Letter Carrier/Inspector? 1982-2010.

    Here's a view of the 5th wall.

Note the studs and blocking from the back of a wall of another set

Another bit - in one episode of Cheers, Frasier mentions that his father is dead.

I remember that. Even funnier is how the writers used that in an episode where a Cheers character comes back (Woody or Sam). Frasier had also stated his father was a scientist, IIRC.

FRASIER: "Oh, Sam, this is my brother, Dr. Niles Crane."

    NILES: "Pleasure to meet you."

SAM: "Yeah, you too. Wow... man, this is freaky. [To Frasier] He looks just like you did when I met you. What happened, huh?"

FRASIER: "Wasn't exactly a health club you were running there, Sam."

SAM: [To Niles] "This is strange, I gotta tell you. See, I didn't know he had a brother."

NILES: "Frasier, I don't mind telling you I'm a little offended that in all the time you spent swapping bon mots with the beer-nut set, you never once mentioned you had a brother?"

SAM: "Well, you know, the truth is, I bet he said something; it's just that when Frasier gets going you kind of have to tune him out."

NILES: "That's a good slogan for his radio show: 'Dr. Frasier Crane: when he gets going, you have to tune him out.'"

MARTIN: "Hey, what'd he tell you about me, Sam? The father, the old cop?"

SAM: "Um, he told me you were dead."

    MARTIN: "Dead!?"

FRASIER: "Well, we had had an argument. You called me a stuffed shirt and hung up on me. I was mad."

SAM: "You're a cop? [To Frasier] You told me he was a research scientist."

FRASIER: [Off Martin's glare] "You were dead! what did it matter?"

Even on the page, it works!

Only blemish is when Sam speaks, it should read "You two".

I don't think so - he means "yeah, you too" as in "yeah, nice to meet you as well".
