The 1 Song That Ruins An Album?

My favourite Zep song....

 

Same. Elsewhere on this forum it’s one of the two songs of LZ I would/could take. Never tire of it when tired of most of the rest of their catalog.

 

Epping Forest-Selling England by the Pound

 

`Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts` from `Blood on the Tracks`, Bob Dylan; ruins a masterpiece, about 20 verses too long, and no poetic rhyme or metre.
`The Jungle Line` from `The Hissing of Summer Lawns`, Joni Mitchell, again a masterpiece of an album ruined by this one grating over synthesized dirge.

 

Silent Night on Phil Spector's A Christmas Gift for You and Silent Night/7:00 News on Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme.

 

That first song on Talk Talk Colour of Spring, ugh. Those singing children.

This is the only song by them I hate

 

Metal Machine Music part 3 isn't a song as are none of the four sides of this album, so the joke's on you, I'm afraid.

 

I'd argue its placement is perfect because a) its title makes sense as a closer, and b) all the many people who hate it can skip it easily. Unlike "Rev 9", you can bail on "GH" and not have to go to the next song!

"Run for Your Life" doesn't ruin 'Rubber Soul,' but it sure ends it on a disturbing note.

 

I'm missing something here. What's "GH"?

 

Funnily enough, I think it's an `epic with a difference' and really fits the album. I'd lose `I Know What I Like' (and make it `single only') `More Fool Me' and `After The Ordeal' for a more cohesive collection of four epics...
