This is a great article: http://fakezombies.blogspot.com/
I'm going to see the Zombies this evening (Rod Argent, Colin Blunstone, et al.) and I recalled the imposter Zombies that toured the U.S. following the breakup of the real band. A friend saw a fake set of Zombies in Knoxville back in the 60s. Several imposter bands toured as the Zombies, but I didn't know until today that one of them included Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, later of ZZ Top. A little musical history.

This is my Zombies album signed by the fake Zombies circa 1969 and by the real Zombies in 2004.

I didn't know about this - did any of you see one of the fake Zombies line-ups in concert?
did they try to pass themselves off as Argent, Blunstone and the others? (fake english accents when talking?)

    the mind boggles!

edit : I just read the blog, fantastic story!

That was interesting. I can't imagine any one really thinking those guys were the Zombies. A real placebo effect. :)
