While I already own the blu-ray of the film, the 4 disc box from years ago, the DVD-audio, MFSL SACD, and RSD vinyl reissue, these two hold some interest for me, especially if the vinyl is a good mastering.

40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Vinyl – Complete audio from the concert, including rehearsals and outtakes, pressed on 180-gram vinyl for the first time and presented in an ornate lift-top box.

40th Anniversary Collector’s Edition – Limited to 2,500 copies, this version includes:
    * Complete audio from the concert.
    * The Last Waltz film on Blu-ray.
*Second Blu-Ray disc including a rarely seen interview from the 1990s with Martin Scorsese and Robbie Robertson, photo gallery, and 5.1 audio mix of the original album.
    * 300-page book, bound in red faux-leather with a full replication of Scorsese’s shooting script, rare and previously unseen photos, set sketches, three foldout storyboards, and a foreword by Scorsese.

So the Deluxe and Collector's editions would have the complete 4-hour concert, correct? I wonder whether the raw audio with no overdubs will be seen as an improvement.

The previous box of the full show had overdubs; seems doubtful that they'd ever release the unfixed audio.

Does it include recordings of sniffing sounds from the Nose room? No buy then.

The book sounds like it will be a nice addition... I imagine the price is going to be high.

No, Neil paid $$$ to have his nostrils cleaned up on film. He said someone gave him the nose candy right as he stood in the wings to be introduced. Never heard that EC had done anything. He was supposed to be clean by that time (?).

By that time Clapton had traded heroin for alcohol (a LOT of it, according to him...)

Yea, that 75-76 tour has some 'priceless' moments, those racists rants that some people won't let him forget.

Nope, I'm done with the reissues of this one. I'm happy enough.

Man, there's just so much repackaging!...

Is November 11th the day that the music industry has to show a profit to be in the black for the year? It seems that date is loaded with big box sets.

So I have the movie on blu-ray, the 4-CD box and the DVD-A of the original album. I'm pretty sure I don't need this, but it's great for anyone who missed out on the earlier reissues.
