Good point about the Anthology in HD. The Monkees just announced their TV series for Blu-ray.

The Civil War series was just remastered for HD, it was unwatchable in its original Standard Def format on today's large screen HDTVs. Anthology should definitely be done the same way.

That's good news about the Monkees TV shows. I might actually spring for that.

Ron Howard's Beatles Live Project is in the works. From the early word, it's an Anthology-type project, not full concerts. Unfortunately.

Australian Beatles concert special from the '60s sponsored by Shell Oil. Not kidding.

    There is much out there.

In one way, it is absurd there haven't been a release like this before.

Then again, at least the tethnology advancements will give us the chance at a good product.

I did not know about the Shell concert. It certainly sounds worthy. Though the only Beatles live project people seem to enthuse over is the Washington 64 concert, which was horrendously recorded IIRC. The other ones I know about are the Sweden show and the Budokan show

It surely must be the promo-clip-collection, doesn't it? The announcemt-prome even has the movie-countdown- feel to it and it's one of the thing missing from the 'basic' collection for years now. I hope they're all in their original aspect ratio, nicely remasterd sound-and picture-wise!

It's most probably a Blu-Ray/DVD of the promo films(there are two for "I Feel Fine" and three for "Hello Goodbye" alone).

  22. if it's not full shows what good is it I can go onto you-tube and see full concerts. these fools never seem to get it right
