As if someone ran over A Hard Day's Night with a lawnmower. (And I don't mind it, actually.)

Revolver is perfect, Abracadabra is cool but not as timeless. The alternate cover is interesting and reminds me of the Floyd cover for Piper. Another possible title would have been The Beatles Second Best Album :p

I do much prefer the original White Album cover / title

"Revolver" is a fine title, and the cover and music are excellent.

Yes, it's true that both the title and cover of "Rubber Soul" are better -- but then again, the music on that album is better as well :)

Despite the fact that I think "Revolver" is ever-so-slightly overrated, "Beatles '66" is a great book, the best and freshest on the Beatles in years.

In 1981, less than a year after John Lennon had died, a Lennon biography was published in Brazil. Seemingly a hasty and poorly researched job, it featured a brief discography at the end, according to which the album "Gun" (sic) was titled "Revolver" in Brazil. That's because "revólver" means "gun" in Portuguese, so the writer assumed it was a translated title! I know the English word "revolver" also means a type of gun, but in non-English speaking countries the double meaning (an object that "revolves") is lost.

They were punsters. "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" - 2 puns in a row.

I never heard "Pendulum" before. Do you know where you read that?

I searched high and low without any luck for any artist that released an album called "Abracadbra" pre "Revolver" that would have made the Beatles change it from the title. The closet release I could find was Steve Miller's 1982 album.

I personally think that is a myth but I could be wrong. I think the The Beatles White Album/Doll House name change story, (which is true), somehow got transposed into the Revolver/ Abracadabra name change story. But like I said I could be wrong. Does anyone know of a pre 'Revolver" album named "Abracadabra"?

How about a picture of the boys on a grassy hill in a park. Then just call it "Grass"

Paul looks terrible in the 'After Geography' mock-up, but probably no worse than the photo inside the 2009 stereo remaster cd. I couldn't believe that stoned-as-hell-looking shot made it to the final package.

I just read that story somewhere months ago. Could be wrong though, sometimes my brain is too "old" or slow for things.^^

I know it was a joke by Ringo and not a serious consideration for the album's title, but I have always found it funny.
