I'm not an expert on any of the acts either.

The fact that it was issued this month, only covers 1964, and contains a whole heap of material probably indicates that it's some form of copyright extension release. It may contain a mix of previously issued material and unissued items.

  2. The bubble-gum that came with Beatles trading cards? Is bubble-gum still chewable after 50 years?

To say there is a continued dearth of information is probably an understatement.

There is our 1964 Beatles release everyone! The Andrew Oldham Orchestra's "I Want to Hold Your Hand".

It is a little light on the tracklist, and I could have used a CD release, but this track is mindblowing!

Having looked at the track listing in a little more detail, it appears to mainly satisfy the 'lose it or use it' ruling. Under this acts can acquire the rights back to their recordings after 50 years if the record company is no longer releasing them.

That 1964 set is crazy expensive. It's like they don't want us to buy it? Charge me £10.99 and they'd probably get five times the buyers that will pay £44.99.

One thing is for sure, I'd bet my house that a Beatles set is coming. If they bother to do Diana Dors they'll bother to do a pretty historic year for the Fab Four. They will make money and Paul will want them protected out of principle more than anything else.

They did it last year. They'll do it this year. Probably next Tuesday.

I would really like to see a Yellow Submarine 2. Since they didn't do their voices in the first one anyway, why not do another one.

A 3D remake was scheduled to be done by Zemackis a year or two ago, but then the plug was pulled

Which one? Like The Beatles, wasn't this just a pseudonym for several individuals?

(Just joking on that goofy website someone linked to the other day.)

Boy, this thread has drifted farther than Columbus looking for the New World.

So...anyone else not hear anything about a wished-for but no apparent release for a possibly nonexistent Beatles 1964 copyright release?

FYI there doesn't seem to be a link to this thread at the end of the other thread - might be nice to have one

Actually, there IS a link to this thread at the end of the other thread. Note that the word 'here' is highlighted. Click on it.

Basically it's how everyone else got here. :)
