Vinyl 2LP set made in Germany, perfect pressings, immaculate sound. The 4 page booklet is probably an edited excerpt from the big box book. There's a track-by-track description of the outtake album versions (origins, take numbers, engineers). I would have preferred more session photos instead of another big explanation of the cover art/content.

 

Got a kick out of this vid. The gentleman explaining how some of the naysayers are never happy even with a box set release like this. He explains further on, there are always complaints but ones should be happy for a beatles release of this proportion. Especially Pepper being issued lavishly like this box. Myself I agree the price is steep. Just saying

Sorry to read about all what went on in the other thread to me it was fun and informative. Sgt Pepper is a iconic album to lots of posters here.

 

I love this album, but a remix of the mono mix makes me a little wary.

 

This was shown before ( but begs repeats )love the guys delivery.

 

Wonder what will be if any significance to the new mono mix? I'm sure I'll like it anyway.

Did anyone else who got the CD box set get the same joyful feeling of opening a vinyl LP that I did? It's so lovely how the CDs are packaged that way - it truly felt like I'd bought the vinyl.

It's a fantastic design decision for those who don't want physical vinyl. I don't know if other artists have done the same with reissues, but I've not bought physical media since the 1990s so this is all new to me.

 

Anyone please let us know about the 2 lp vinyl.
Hope it's a reputable pressing plant.

That's it. Selling the box after ripping it. Too bad I allready supported the madness by buying and hoping for this not to happen...

 

Isn't the vinyl taken from the unlimited master? One would hope it would be significantly better. Enough to tempt me to buy it, perhaps...

 

It is. Wish it made it to the blu ray or hi-res download. You now have the choice between a brickwalled CD or an uncompressed, but vinyl sourced (therefore noisy by nature and really dependant on your setup) master.

For a few seconds I thought they'd added the vinyl to the boxset as well

 

The fact that they made this release so lavish as the content is concern, and good looking and appealing as packaging, is exactly the reason people to expect perfection, and to be disappointed if the new remix is compressed to to dead, or one track is carelessly done by needledropping a damaged record or acetate, etc. A release, presented in such a way, have to be immaculate in any regard, IMO, so people have the full right to complaint if something in this box is sub par. So no need for the guy from the video to tell us if we have to be happy, or critical, or whatever - everyone ho put his money on this have to decide by himself.
