I mean, I Know What I Like by Genesis is supposed to be Beatlesque and I can see/hear it.

:kilroy: The problem with this thread is that it's too broad. People are all over the map. You have to pick a specific year, or even a specific album when talking about Beatles stuff. I can give a whole lot of examples of 1963-1964 style Lennon & McCartney, but this one is among the best:

When I was younger I thought the Dave Clark Five "Because" was the Beatles.

First heard this on the radio, thought the Beatles had made a comeback.

I always thought the closest The Mamas & The Papas came to the Beatles sound was with their "I Saw Her Again". Reportedly even McCartney admired the song craft of the false start on the third chorus in the song: he said something to the effect that "It had to be a mistake. No one is that clever".

Most of Big Star's catalogue but especially "Thirteen" & "The Ballad Of El Goodo"
    Both very Beatlesque

I believe Paul once said there were a couple Billy Joel songs he wish he wrote.

"Just The Way You Are" sounds pretty fitting of Paul.

I can hear John singing pretty much anything by The Who.

definitely beatle-esque. my understanding is that the lyrics are about heroin, which damon was pretty deep into at the time, and the title refers somehow to justine frischmann of elastica who damon was living with at the time... could be wrong, of corse....

    cheers,
    rob

One of the first songs I thought of was "Precious To Me" then I forgot all about it when I saw something shiny.
