...when you find a stranger inthe Alps.

Wow. When I first saw this my initial reaction was, what the hell did I just watch?

Then I was telling a friend of mine about it, eventually he bought me a copy of the dvd. From then on....hooked. Abided!!

Gimme another Caucasian, I’m goin’ bowling.

That's funny every time I see it. More so because of the phone being the big, bulky bag type. Like no one would notice it freaking ringing.

Where I went (Gold Coast Casino), they gave a free round of bowling to everyone of us that purchased a ticket!...There weren't many.....

  9. As the proud owner of it on Laserdisc, and having seen it in the theaters all I can say is, "parla usted ingles"...

Saw it twice in theaters. First time it was enjoyable. Went back and laughed through the entire movie. The dialog is so great. You catch a lot more the 2nd, 3rd or 15th time you see it

    One of my favorite comedies.

    Can't believe it's 20 years old.

John Goodman as Walter was hilarious..

Phillip Seymour Hoffman flapping his arms in embarrassment in that scene is one of the top bits of the film for me.

When I first saw The Big Lebowski in theaters, I thought John Goodman would surely get nominated for an Oscar. I am still surprised to this day that he didn't.

By the way, I saw on Twitter one of the big papers (New York Times? I can’t recall) did a story where they went back and interviewed all the critics who gave the movie negative reviews at the time to get their current takes. Probably worth reading. If I can locate it, I’ll post a link.

My favorite scene is when Walter dumps Donnie's ashes and the wind kicks up and they end up all over the Dude.

As evidenced by this thread, probably the greatest "quotable movie" of all time. But right behind it is The Princess Bride... ;)
