I went to see that one in the theater. It's one of those movies that gets funnier every time I watch it.

So true, as one example, 1/3 through the movie, after Walter botches the money hand off and they go bowling, he tells the Dude that Bunny will get tired of her little game and wander back home. Of course it's not apparent Bunny is in on anything the nihilists are doing, they just take advantage of her absence.

Funny. I agree with all your other misses (The Man Who Wasn't There is borderline for me), but I love The Big Lebowski. One of these things is not like the others :)

With the exception of 'Intolerable Cruelty' (their only true dud IMO) I find something to enjoy about all of their movies. 'The Big Lebowski,' 'A Serious Man' and 'O Brother....' are the three I go back to the most though!

After I first saw the movie in the theater, my first thought was John Goodman will win a Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance. But like Bridges, he wasn't even nominated.

I think intolerable cruelty is funny. And while some here may know this, the Coens only did a re-write of that screenplay which was originally written by someone else, but still managed to stamp their imprimatur on it.

The only thing I can remember about Intolerable Cruelty are the scenes with Bruce Campbell on the TV soap opera that seems to always be on in the background.

Not quite sure if it applies, but Walter does tell the Dude that Lebowski is faking his disability, which doesn't appear to be true.

I watch it a few times a year. It's totally more fun with the booze and herbs man.

Jeff Bridges really gives a great performance. And the Cohen's can write a bitching good script.

Fear and loathing in Las Vegas tonight. Not as funny, not as good. But pretty trippy

Believe it or not, here in Vegas, they gave away a free game of bowling when you bought tickets to the movie, at the Gold Coast Casino!

I actively loathed "BL" when I saw it theatrically. I've softened on it some since then but I'm definitely not a member of the cult.

I only really like the Coens when they do dramas, really. Their comedies - like "BL" and "Fargo" - seem too forced to me. They feel like comedies made by people who think they're a lot more clever than they are...
