Immolation "Satan's Fall" (Mercyful Fate cover).

  2. Soundgarden unlocked the hard rock riff at the heart of "Girl U Want" by Devo in a fairly heavy cover version.

Iron Butterfly's great version of Edith Piaf's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" is probably my favorite Heavy Cover.

How about Spencer Davis Group's "I'm A Man" as covered by Chicago?

Doug Ingle of Iron Butterfly wrote "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida".

I kind of thought you might be, but wasn't sure. Anyway my "policing" instinct got the better of me.

    Slayer's cover of In-a-ga-da-da-vi-da.

    16 minutes condensed into 3!

I agree with all of the above, except I prefer Butterfly's version of IAGDV.

  15. Canuck metallic dronesters Nadja did a crushingly fuzzed out and heavy, yet still a bit poppy, cover of A-ha's "The Sun Always Shines on TV".

I like Kid Rock's cover of Buddy Holly's Well All Right from that Buddy Holly covers album.

The Who's Shakin' All Over is H-E-A-V-Y.

Buddy Miles Regiment's cover of Dust In The Wind by Kansas is very fine.

24-7-Spyz's Jungle Boogie cover caused Chimps to fall out of trees.

McKendree Spring's Down By The River is heavy enough.

Imagine Elvin Bishop singing My Girl....it's difficult, yeah. Any cover of that song would be heavier than the Motown original.
